Abstract: The title compound, [Cr(C₆H₅CF₃)(CO)₃], exhibits the three-legged piano-stool structure expected for a tricarbonylmetal complex with an ⁶-coordinated arene. The trifluoromethyl functional group is tilted towards the Cr(CO)₃ center.
