Hexaaquanickel(II) bis[(4-oxo-4H-pyridin-1-yl)acetate] dihydrate

Z.-Y. Zhang, S. Gao, L.-H. Huo, H. Zhao, J.-G. Zhao and S. W. Ng

Abstract: The title complex, [Ni(H2O)6](C7H6NO3)2·2H2O, was synthesized by the reaction of Ni(CH3COO)2·4H2O and (4-oxo-4H-pyrindin-1-yl)acetic acid in an aqueous solution. The nickelII ion, which lies on a center of symmetry, is coordinated by six water molecules to form an octahedron [Ni-O = 2.047  (1)-2.057  (1)  Å]. A three-dimensional supramolecular framework is formed via hydrogen bonds between the anions and cations.
