1-(2-Piperidinoethyl)-1H-benzimidazole

Abstract: The title compound, C₁₄H₁₉N₃, was synthesized from benzimidazole and N-(2-chloroethyl)piperidine hydrochloride in KOH/EtOH solution. The benzimidazole ring is connected to the piperidine ring by an ethylene group. The piperidine ring displays a chair conformation.
