Abstract: The title compound was prepared by a solid-state reaction at 1123 K. Its structure is closely related to that of alluaudite. The main structural feature is the presence of infinite chains of edge-sharing Bi2O10 dimers, which are linked by AsO4 tetrahedra to form a framework enclosing two types of channels where K+ cations reside. The X1 site of the alluaudite structure is occupied by K+, whereas the X2 site is empty.
