trans-Bis[4-amino-3,5-bis(2-pyridyl)-4H-1,2,4-triazole-²N¹,N⁵]bis(nitrato-O)copper(II)

Abstract: The crystal structure of the title compound, [Cu(NO₃)₂(C₁₂H₁₀N₆)₂], consists of neutral mononuclear molecules held together by means of an extensive three-dimensional network of N-HO hydrogen bonds, C-HO interactions and face-to-face [pi] - [pi] interactions. The Cu^II atom, which lies at a center of inversion, has a distorted octahedral geometry, where the equatorial plane is composed of four N atoms belonging to two bidentate 4-amino-3,5-bis(2-pyridyl)-1,2,4-triazole ligands, and the axial positions are occupied by two O atoms of two monodentate nitrate anions.
