Abstract: The title compound, [Ir₂Cl₂(C₁₂H₈NO)₄]·1.5CH₂Cl₂ or [Ir(fppy)₂Cl]₂·1.5CH₂Cl₂ [where fppy is 4-(2-pyridyl)benzaldehyde], is a dinuclear iridium(III) complex containing two six-coordinate iridium centres connected by two bridging chlorides, which has crystallized with the solvent dichloromethane.
