Tetrakis(-acetato-²O:O')bis[(4-pyridone-O)copper(II)]

Abstract: In the title centrosymmetric dinuclear complex, [Cu₂(C₂H₃O₂)₄(C₅H₅NO)₂], the two Cu^II atoms are bridged by four atetate groups, the CuCu separation being 2.6468 (7) Å. Each Cu^II atom exists in a square-pyramidal coordination environment defined by four carboxyl acetate O atoms and one 4-pyridone O atom. Intermolecular hydrogen bonds give rise to a two-dimensional layer structure.
