Abstract: The title compound, [Ni(-C₄H₂O₄)(C₇H₆N₂)₂(H₂O)₂]_n, is a one-dimensional polymeric complex bridged by fumarate dianions. The Ni atom lies on one inversion centre and the fumarate on another. The molecular chains are linked by hydrogen bonding. - stacking between parallel benzimidazole rings exists in the crystal structure.
