Abstract: The title centrosymmetric alumoxane compound, [Al₄(CH₃)₆(³-O)₂(-{Ph₂P(O)}₂CH)₂]·C₄H₈O, is dimeric in the solid state as its THF disolvate, with a central Al₂O₂ ring core connected to terminal Me₂Al units through oxo and non-chelating phosphinate anions.
