Abstract: The title compound, hemi[3,3'-(ethylenediiminio)dipropanaminium] aquatetraoxotri-[mu]-sulfato-diuranate(VI) dihydrate, (C8H26N4)0.5[(UO2)2(SO4)3(H2O)]·2H2O, contains infinite anionic [(UO2)2(H2O)(SO4)3]2- layers with [C8H26N4]4+ cations balancing charge and participating in extensive hydrogen bonding, along with uncoordinated water molecules. Each UVI centre is seven-coordinate with a pentagonal bipyramidal geometry, and each sulfate tetrahedron bridges three adjacent uranium centres.
