Chloro[(hydroxymethyl)diphenylphosphine-P](1,10-phenanthroline-²N,N')copper(I)

Abstract: The title compound, [CuCl(C₁₂H₈N₂)(C₁₃H₁₃OP)], has a distorted tetrahedral coordination geometry at the copper(I) center, formed by the two N atoms from 1,10-phenanthroline, the P atom from the (hydroxymethyl)diphenylphosphine group and the Cl atom. Both O-HCl and C-HCl interactions help to define the crystal packing.
