Octasodium hexatungstoplatinate(IV) hexaicosahydrate, Na₈[PtW₆O₂₄]·26H₂O

Abstract: The symmetry of the hexatungstoplatinate(IV) anion in Na₈[PtW₆O₂₄]·26H₂O is C_i (), which is different from the D_3d (m) and S₆ () symmetry found in K₆Na₂[PtW₆O₂₄]·12H₂O and (CH₆N₃)₈[PtW₆O₂₄], respectively. However, this change in symmetry does not significantly affect metal-metal and metal-oxygen distances in the anion.
