Diiodo(4'-phenyl-2,2':6',2''-terpyridine-³N)copper(II)

Abstract: The Cu atom in the 1/1 adduct of copper(II) diiodide with 4'-phenyl-2,2':6',2''-terpyridine, [CuI₂(C₂₁H₁₅N₃)], exists in a square-pyramidal environment. The Cu-I_axial bond [2.7872  (9)  Å] is significantly longer than the Cu-I_basal bond [2.5394  (8)  Å].
