The title compound, {[Tb(C11H11N2O4)3(H2O)3]·H2O}n, has a Tb ion coordinated by bulky benzoate ligands. The Tb ion coordination sphere is occupied by nine O atoms, five from benzoate groups, three from water mol­ecules and one from an amide carbonyl group of a neighboring ligand. Five amide NH groups of the three ligands are involved in intramolecular N—H...O hydrogen bonds.

Special details top

Geometry. All e.s.d.'s (except the e.s.d. in the dihedral angle between two l.s. planes) are estimated using the full covariance matrix. The cell e.s.d.'s are taken into account individually in the estimation of e.s.d.'s in distances, angles and torsion angles; correlations between e.s.d.'s in cell parameters are only used when they are defined by crystal symmetry.
