Abstract: The title compound, C23H21NO5S, was synthesized by the Reformatsky reaction of N-[(3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl)methylene]-4-methylbenzenesulfonamide and 2-bromoacetophenone. The S atom in the sulfonyl group has a distorted tetrahedral geometry. The two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit form two centrosymmetric dimers connected by intermolecular N-H
O hydrogen bonds between the amino and sulfonyl groups.
