Abstract: An ordered polymorph of CuSm3Se6 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/m. The structure, which contains both monoselenide (Se2-) and diselenide (Se22-) units, comprises a three-dimensional network built from SmSe8 polyhedra and distorted CuSe4 tetrahedra.
