Abstract: The title compound, [Fe(C5H5)(C8H7O)], is produced by the reaction of ferrocene with 1,1,3,3-tetramethoxypropane. It crystallizes in the noncentrosymmetric space group P212121. The ![[alpha]](/logos/entities/alpha_rmgif.gif)

-unsaturated aldehyde moiety adopts an s-trans configuration. The crystal structure is stabilized by intermolecular C-H
