A mixed-halogen tricarbonylmanganese(I) complex: fac-[MnBr_0.3Cl_0.7{Ph₂P(CH₂)₃PPh₂}(CO)₃]

Abstract: Crystals of the mixed halogen complex, fac-(bromo/chloro)tricarbonyl[1,3-bis(diphenylphosphino)propane]manganese(I), fac-[MnBr_0.3Cl_0.7(C₃₀H₂₆O₃P₂)(CO)₃], were obtained from a prolonged recrystallization attempt of [MnBr{Ph₂P(CH₂)₃PPh₂}(CO)₃] from CHCl₃/hexane solution at 263 K. Common coordinates are found for all but the halogen atoms in the disordered structure, but the Mn-X vectors differ by 3.5 (5)° and the M-X bond lengths differ by 0.10 (1) Å.
