Abstract: In the title compound,(NH4)2[Co(H2O)6](SO4)2, six water molecules are coordinated to one Co2+ cation, which lies on an inversion centre. The geometry around the Co2+ cation is that of an octahedron. The coordinated water molecules, uncoordinated ammonium cations and sulfate anions are linked by hydrogen bonds into a network structure.
