N3)copper(II) bromideAbstract: The monoclinic unit cell of the title compound, [CuBr(C3H4N2)4]Br, emulates an orthorhombic cell as its
angle is close to 90°; the crystal structure is twinned with approximately equal contributions of the two components. The Cu atom is five-coordinate in a square-pyramidal geometry. The cation interacts with the bromide anion through hydrogen bonds, which give rise to a layer structure.
