Abstract: The title compound, C₂₈H₁₈Cl₆, was obtained by the electrolysis of 2,2,2-trichloro-1,1-bis(4-chlorophenyl)ethane (DDT) in the presence of a catalytic amount of a cobalamin derivative. The molecule has a centre of symmetry, and the alkene moiety has an E configuration.
