(E)-4,4,4-Trichloro-1-phenylbut-2-en-1-one

Abstract: In the crystal structure of the title compound, C₁₀H₇Cl₃O, the carbonyl group is in an s-cis conformation and the configuration of the C=C double bond is E. With the exception of two Cl atoms, all the atoms lie on a crystallographic mirror plane. Intramolecular C-HO and C-HCl hydrogen bonds are present.
