1,4-Bis(3,5-di-tert-butyl-2-hydroxybenzylideneaminomethyl)benzene

Abstract: The title compound, C₃₈H₅₂N₂O₂, has been obtained by a Schiff base reaction of 3,5-di-tert-butylsalicaldehyde and p-xylenediamine in methanol. The molecule is located on a crystallographic inversion centre, and the hydrogen bonding is exclusively intramolecular.
