Abstract: The hydrothermal reaction of cobalt acetate, vanadium pentoxide and 2,5-bis(4-pyridyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazole resulted in the title complex, [Co(V₂O₆)(C₁₂H₈N₄S)(H₂O)₃], in which the cobalt(II) cation shows distorted octahedral geometry, coordinated by one pyridine N atom, two O atoms from tetravanadate and three water molecules.
