Aqua(2,2'-diamino-4,4'-bi-1,3-thiazole)(oxydiacetato-[kappa]3O,O',O'')cadmium(II) trihydrate

B.-X. Liu, Y.-G. Tian and D.-J. Xu

Abstract: In the title compound, [Cd(C4H4O5)(C6H6N4S2)(H2O)]·3H2O, the CdII cation assumes a distorted octahedral CdO4N2 coordination formed by a tridentate oxydiacetate (ODA) dianion, a bidentate diaminobithizole (DABT) molecule and a water molecule. ODA chelates to the Cd atom in a meridional configuration, while the two rings of DABT are coplanar. Interplanar distances of 3.438  (4) and 3.382  (10)  Å suggest the presence of [pi]-[pi] stacking interactions between adjacent thiazole rings.
