2-(3,5-Dimethylphenyl)-5-(4-ethylphenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole

Abstract: The title compound, C₁₈H₁₈N₂O, has been synthesized by the reaction of N-tert-butyl-N'-(4-ethylbenzoyl)-3,5-dimethylbenzoylhydrazine with oxalyl chloride. The three rings are nearly coplanar and the molecular geometry is unexceptional.
