Abstract: The title compound, C₃₄H₃₀Br₂O₂.C₃H₆O, was synthesized by the dimerization of 2-(4-bromobenzal)-1-tetralone, induced by a low-valent titanium reagent (TiCl₄/Zn). X-ray analysis reveals that the cyclohexane ring spiro-fused to the 5-membered ring adopts a boat conformation, while the other cyclohexane ring adopts a screw-boat conformation.
