3'-(2-Chlorophenyl)-1'-methyl-4'nitrospiro[indan-2,2'-pyrrolidine]-1,3-dione

Abstract: In the title compound, C₁₉H₁₅ClN₂O₄, the pyrrolidine ring adopts an envelope conformation. The five-membered ring in the indanedione moiety also adopts an envelope conformation. The dihedral angle between the chlorophenyl ring and the benzene ring of the indanedione moiety is 38.2  (1)°. The molecular structure is stabilized by intramolecular C-HCl and C-HO interactions and the packing is stabilized by intermolecular C-HO interactions.
