Caesium(I) hydrogen phthalate

Abstract: The title compound, Cs⁺·C₈H₅O₄^-, crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pca2₁ and is isostructural with Tl⁺·C₈H₅O₄^-, K⁺·C₈H₅O₄^- and Rb⁺·C₈H₅O₄^-. The Cs⁺ cation is surrounded by eight O atoms. The crystal packing is stabilized by intermolecular O-HO hydrogen bonds.
