3-(4-Bromophenyl)-2,2-dimethyl-2,3-dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-one

Abstract: The title compound, C₁₆H₁₅BrN₂O, was synthesized by the reaction of N-(4-bromophenyl)-2-nitrobenzamide and acetone, induced by a low-valent titanium reagent (TiCl₄/Zn). The dihydropyrimidine ring adopts a screw-boat conformation. The molecules are connected by N-HO hydrogen bonds, forming a linear chain along the a axis.
