Tris(ethylenediamine-²N,N')zinc(II) bis(1,2-dicyanoethylenedithiolato-²S,S')cuprate(II)

Abstract: The title complex, [Zn(C₂H₈N₂)₃][Cu(C₄N₂S₂)₂], exists as discrete ions. The cation lies on a twofold rotation axis and the anion lies on an inversion centre. The [Zn(C₂H₈N₂)₃]²⁺ cation exhibits a distorted octahedral geometry. In the [Cu(C₄N₂S₂)₂]^2- anion, the Cu^II atom is in a slightly distorted square-planar environment. The crystal packing is stabilized by hydrogen bonds of the types N-HN and N-HS.
