(R,R)-N,N'-Bis(5-chlorosalicylidene)-1,2-cyclohexanediamine

Abstract: In the title compound {systematic name: (R,R)-4,4'-dichloro-2,2'-[cyclohexane-1,2-diylbis(nitrilomethylidyne)]diphenol},C₂₀H₂₀Cl₂N₂O₂, there are two chiral C atoms and two intramolecular O-HN hydrogen bonds. The molecule lies on a twofold rotation axis. The crystal structure is stabilized by intermolecular O-HO hydrogen bonds, which link the molecules into one-dimensional helical chains along the b axis.
