Diphenyl 2-(,,4-trichlorobenzyl)phenyl phosphate

Abstract: The reaction of ,,4-trichloro--phenyl-o-tolyl dichlorophosphinate with phenol leads to the selective substitution of the phosphorus-bound chlorines by OPh groups. The product, 4-chloro-(,-dichlorobenzyl)phenyl diphenyl phosphate, C₂₅H₁₈Cl₃O₄P, has a CCl₂ group that remains intact.
