Dibromobis[pyridine-2(1H)-thione-S]cadmium(II)

Abstract: In the title compound, [CdBr₂(C₅H₅NS)₂], the Cd^II cation (site symmetry 2) is coordinated by the S atoms of two pyridine-2-thione ligands and two Br^- ions in a distorted tetrahedral geometry [Cd-S = 2.5171 (10) Å and Cd-Br = 2.5911 (6) Å]. The molecules are linked via N-HBr, C-HBr and C-HS interactions into an extended network.
