Hyperolactone C

Abstract: The crystal structure of a known spirolactone, hyperolactone C [systematic name: (5S,9S)-9-methyl-2-phenyl-9-vinyl-1,7-dioxaspiro[4.4]non-2-ene-4,6-dione], isolated from Hypericum lloydii (Svenson) P. Adams (Sandhill St John's Wort, Clusiaceae), native to the southeastern USA, is presented.
