2N,N')zinc(II)]-
-4-carboxylatophenoxyacetato-
3O,O':O'']Abstract: In the title coordination polymer, [Zn(C9H6O5)(C10H8N2)(H2O)]n, the ZnII ion displays a distorted octahedral coordination configuration, defined by two N atoms from the 2,2'-bipyridine ligand, three carboxylate O atoms from two 4-carboxylatophenoxyacetate dianions and one water molecule. Adjacent ZnII atoms are linked by carboxylate groups into zigzag chains with a Zn
Zn separation of 9.710 (3) Å across the chains. Intermolecular hydrogen bonds serve to assemble the chains into a double-chain structure.
