Abstract: Crystals of the title compound, C6F5B(OH)2, were obtained from an attempted recrystallization of (C6F5)3B3O3·Et3PO from THF/hexane solution. The central B atom of the boronic acid has a trigonal planar configuration with two hydroxyl groups and one pentafluorphenyl substituent.
