7-Chloro-2,2-dimethyl-3-(4-methylphenyl)-1,2-dihydroquinazolin-4(3H)-one

Abstract: The title compound, C₁₇H₁₇ClN₂O, was synthesized by the reaction of N-(4-methylphenyl)-4-chloro-2-nitrobenzamide and acetone induced by a low-valent titanium reagent (TiCl₄/Zn). The dihydropyrimidine ring in the molecule adopts a screw-boat conformation. The molecules are connected by N-HO hydrogen bonds, forming a linear chain along the a axis.
