Poly[[[triaquaerbium(III)]-[mu]3-succinato] chloride dihydrate]

W. Nika, I. Pantenburg and G. Meyer

Abstract: The title compound, {[Er(C4H4O4)(H2O)3]Cl·2H2O}n, crystallizes with an infinite polymeric structure, in which erbium(III) ions on twofold rotation axes are bridged by centrosymmetric succinate dianions. The carboxylate groups of the dicarboxylate coordinate in a tridentate-bridging manner to the otherwise water-coordinated ErIII ion. The structure is completed by Cl- anions and uncoordinated water molecules.
