Abstract: The title molecule, C17H16O2, lies on a crystallographic twofold rotation axis. The dihedral angle between the planes of the two symmetry-related benzene rings is 15.56 (4)°. The molecular structure is stabilized by intramolecular O-H
O and C-H
O hydrogen bonds.
