Bis[2-(4-pyridinio)-1H-benzimidazolium] hexacosaoxooctamolybdate(VI)

Abstract: The title compound, (C₁₂H₁₁N₃)₂[Mo₈O₂₆], was prepared by the hydrothermal method. The centrosymmetric -octamolybdate anions are linked to form a three-dimensional structure by the 2-(4-pyridinio)benzimidazolium cations through N-HO hydrogen bonds.
