Abstract: The title compound [systematic name: methyl 2-amino-4-(4-chlorophenyl)-5-oxo-4H,5H-pyrano[3,2-c]chromene-3-carboxylate N,N-dimethylformamide solvate], C₂₀H₁₄ClNO₅·C₃H₇NO, was synthesized by the reaction of 4-hydroxycoumarin and methyl 4'-chloro-2-cyanocinnamate catalyzed by KF-montmorillonite. There are N-HO hydrogen bonds and C-HO interactions in the crystal structure.
