Abstract: In the cation of the title compound C₁₁H₁₈ClN₂⁺·Cl^-, the quaternary N atom has a distorted tetrahedral geometry, and the other N a nearly planar-trigonal (owing to conjugation with the benzene ring) bonding geometry.
