Diaquabis(5-nitro-1H-benzimidazole-N³)copper(II) dinitrate

Abstract: In the title compound, [Cu(C₇H₅N₃O₂)₂(H₂O)₂](NO₃)₂, the Cu atom, located on an inversion centre, is four-coordinated by the two O atoms from two water molecules and two N atoms from two benzimidazole ligands. The geometry around the Cu atom is nearly perfect square planar. The crystal packing is stabilized by intermolecular N-HO, O-HO and C-HO hydrogen bonds.
