2-Acetyl-3'-chloroacetanilide

Abstract: In the title compound [alternatively called N-(3-chlorophenyl)-3-oxobutanamide], C₁₀H₁₀ClNO₂, the C=O bond lengths are 1.2108 (19) and 1.179 (2) Å, which implies that the molecule is in the keto form. The crystal structure is stabilized by an N-HO hydrogen bond.
