Abstract: The structure of the title compound, [RuCl(C₂₃H₂₁N₅)]ClO₄·CH₄O, has been determined at 113 K, revealing a mononuclear six-coordinate structure with a 0.263 (2) Å displacement of the Ru^II atom from the N₄ equatorial plane.
