Polymeric diaqua(₆-1,5-naphthalenedisulfonato)barium(II)

Abstract: The Ba atom in the title compound, poly[[diaquabarium(II)]-₆-1,5-naphthalenedisulfonato], [Ba(C₁₀H₆S₂O₆)(H₂O)₂]_n, lies on a special position of site symmetry 2 and the dianion on an inversion centre. The Ba atom interacts with the O atoms of six different dianionic groups in the three-dimensional network and exhibits a square antiprismatic coordination.
