1,6-Anhydro-2-iodo-2-deoxy--D-glucopyranose (Iodolevoglucosan)

Abstract: The molecular structure of the title compound, C₆H₉IO₄, is similar to that of 1,6-anhydro--D-glucopyranose. The crystal packing shows strong intermolecular O-HO and C-HI hydrogen bonds.
