Abstract: The title compound, C19H18O5, is a diastereoisomer of crotocaudin, both being isolated from the plants of genus Croton. In isocrotocaudin, the furan moiety makes a dihedral angle with the adjacent lactone of 13.53 (17)°. The cyclohexyl ring of the diterpene moiety adopts a chair confirmation. The weak intermolecular C-H
O hydrogen bonds link the molecules into linear chains along the c axis.
