Tetraaquabis(hydrogen maleato)cadmium(II)

Abstract: The title compound, [Cd(C₄H₃O₄)₂(H₂O)₄], crystallizes in the centrosymmetric space group P $\overline 1$ with the Cd atom occupying an inversion centre and the monodentate hydrogen maleate anions arranged in a trans configuration. A network of intra- and intermolecular O-HO bonds helps to stabilize the crystal packing.
